Please be sure to read the information below as it contains some very important details.

ProctorU Exams and Accommodations-Important

If you have a course that uses ProctorU for exams, inform your Accessibility Advisor as early as possible in the semester. They will coordinate to have your accommodations added to your ProctorU profile.

You must contact your instructors directly to confirm that extra time has been added to the testing platform; Accessibility Services cannot do this for you but will add all other approved accommodations.

Since these tests are taken remotely, Accessibility Services will not provide a distraction-free environment. Find a location that meets ProctorU’s requirements and test your technology beforehand to avoid delays on test day.

Unless you have an approved accommodation that requires an exception from using ProctorU, you must schedule your tests through ProctorU, not ClockWork. Most standard accommodations can be handled within ProctorU, but not all qualify for an exception. Students with approved exceptions must pay a testing fee equal to ProctorU before scheduling their test. Please contact our office for more details and to arrange these exams.

Students must follow the 5 day booking rule for in-class exams and submit requests online through Clockwork.  Late test requests will not be accepted.

Your test must be booked by 11:59pm MST on the previous: If your test is scheduled on a:
Wednesday Monday
Thursday Tuesday
Friday Wednesday
Saturday Thursday
Sunday Friday

  • Accessibility Services staff will confirm with faculty when notification for tests was provided to the class.  Being absent from /late for class does not excuse you from this deadline.  Check with your classmates and your instructors.
  • If you experience difficulties booking your test, contact Accessibility Services right away.  Do not wait until after the booking deadline has passed.  We can be reached at as@nwpolytech.ca or 780-539-2017.

Double check your accommodated test times in your calendar

If your exam is to be written later in the day, your start time may be earlier to ensure you are finished prior to Accessibility Services' office hours ending for the day.  For example, if your test is from 4:00-5:20, you could be starting at 2:30 or earlier to allow for your extended time accommodation.  It is your responsibility to confirm your times and additional time will not be granted for late arrivals.

If this will interfere with other classes, please speak with your instructors regarding an alternate writing time.

Rescheduling Tests Due to Illness

Cold and flu season is here, and we understand that you may need to cancel/reschedule your tests because you are unwell.  You must notify Accessibility Services AND your instructor that you will be absent for your test.  Accessibility Services does not inform instructors of absences, nor do they contact us.  Doing this will save you from having much-needed rest interrupted should we attempt to locate you for your booking.

  • If you need to cancel more than 3 hours before your start time, click on "My Calendar" and click on the "Cancel" button for your test.
  • For cancellations with less than 3 hours' notice, email as@nwpolytech.ca or call (780) 539-2017 and leave a message.
